The first week of my experience in Paris was marked by a mix of meeting new people, tasting new things, and learning a new language. In the middle of this excitement was Rosh Hashanah, a holiday I love to spend with my family. This year I nearly thought I wasn't going to experience Rosh Hashanah due to the craziness of my new life. But thanks to a new friend who convinced me to join KAHAL, I got to meet an awesome group of English-speaking Jewish students. There were four of us who met at a lovely Shul in Paris; we sang and met new people. This was the location of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Following the service, we went to dinner together and had a really special night. We were in the glamorous 16th district of Paris for our new year. We shared wine, and toasted to our temporarily new lives in Paris and to finding each-other! I left that night feeling so glad to be a part of KAHAL.
